Track A Tiger

Deep Elm Records is pleased to announce that it will be releasing
Chicago-based Track A Tiger’s sophomore full-length “We Moved Like Ghosts,” the follow-up to the band’s critically-acclaimed 2006 debut “Woke Up Early The Day I Died.”

Track a Tiger’s gorgeous soundscapes, male-female harmonies, strings,
mellow acoustics and keyboards are ideal for the summer ahead. Think
Richard and Linda Thompson and the Sea and Cake having drinks in the
living room. Low and Sonic Youth are making dinner in the kitchen and
Fleetwood Mac is out getting more ice.

Recently, Track a Tiger recorded four songs for the famed Daytrotter
sessions, which you can check out here.

“Track a Tiger lures you in with its Low-like vocals, then lulls you
with an Iron & Wine-y twang.” – Magnet
“Conjuring the best moments of Yo La Tengo, Ida and other champions of
atmospheric indie pop” – Popmatters
“A beautiful myriad of indie pop and slowcore…sonically textured,
alluring sounds and competing harmonies.” – Smother

- Track A Tiger are pretty solid. This is a cool signing for Deep Elm in that it is a little different. I’m interested in hearing the whole album and getting more of a feel for these guys. Below are three mp3s from the band’s first album. Check their myspace page up above for some of the newer material.

I haven’t taken the time to listen to this yet, but I feel inclined to blast the PR guy at Deep Elm. I heard he had a huge member, but when I encountered it in person it was merely large.

I’m sure TAT’s a great band though. Chicago is known for it’s recent string of amazing artists… Maps and Atlases, Catfish Haven, Oprah.

  2. I hate Deep Elm!
