Band You Should Know
Statues are an awesome power pop-punk band from Ontario, Canada. The band is able to stick out from their crowded genre with a noticeable post-punk influence in their music. However, that influence does not dull the band’s strong melodies in any way…it just sharpens them. At times the band comes off as a poppier version of The Thermals. That is high praise in my book. The band’s 2006 album, New People Make Us Nervous, has been tearing up my playlist of late.
