For long time fans of pop/punk, Team Stray would have been one of those great bands that found themselves outcast on Honest Don’s. If you get that reference then god bless you. Sadly, Cincinnati, Ohio’s Team Stray recently called it quits. The band crosses power pop/punk with an almost indie/emo sound. Sicko crossed with The Smoking Popes? Hell, I don’t know. Team Stray’s Gender Studies album was one I meant to write about in ‘08 but never really got around to (yeah, I know…thanks a lot says band and label). Anyway, it really is a shame the band is hanging it up now. For fans of indie power pop, Team Stray were a dream band.
