Michigan instrumental outfit, Lights At Sea bathe themselves in randomness and in turn grace us with lists of their many loves and influences. The band is currently writing music for their debut full-length which they hope to have ready by Winter 2009/Spring 2010. You can check out my review of the band’s fantastic Self-Titled debut here.

My number one inspiration in my life is hands down is my beautiful wife and daughter, but these things aren’t too bad either…

1. The Life and Times “Tragic Boogie”
Honestly this may be the best album of the year in my opinion…I am a huge fan of all their previous bands (Shiner, Stella Link, Ring, Cicada) but this album stands tall and high next to all their previous efforts. One of the most impressive records I have heard in years. Get it now!!!
2. Resident Evil 5
Ridiculously awesome, love me some zombie horror gaming.
3. South Park
Best cartoon ever. You can’t mess with Matt Stone and Trey Parker. This is why I have a DVR so i can record endless amounts of this show.
4. World War Z
Ridiculously awesome, love me some zombie horror reading.
5. The Wrestler
Mickey Rourke should have won the Oscar
6. Disappearer “The Clearing”
Great band, awesome full length. Amazing production and sound. Love the drumming and riffs on this record.
7.Peggle
This is an ipod touch game and its the definition of addicting. It really should probably be number 1 on this list. It absorbs wayyyy too much of my time. Seriously I almost played this game while driving cause I didn’t want to pause my game. I shouldn’t even be listing this cause if you find this game it will devour your soul. Your life will disappear.
8. Let the Right one in
Best Vampire movie ever. Go get it now if you haven’t seen it.
9. Annie Hall
Just saw it for the first time a week or so ago, loved it. I’m kinda 50/50 on Woody Allen movies but this one struck a chord.
10. Swamp Thing (Alan Moore graphic novels)
I was huge into Watchmen now I’m knee deep in these beauties, I think Alan Moore is a f$%#in genius
11. Genesis “Nursery Cryme”
I love all the old Genesis Peter Gabriel era albums but currently this one is the one that I cant stop listening to. The 99% of the time I’m not listening to the new Life And Times.
12. Mesa Boogie (Single Rectafier)
Hopefully one day soon I will finally have one.
13. Canada House

4. I work for two screen printing companies/clothing lines. One is called Kiaeneto (kuh-net-o) which is a line that is targeted towards gamers and is made famous by Dave Walsh who is a professional gamer in Halo 3. The other line is called Traditional 616. This line is based on tattoo art. The line was created by tattoo artist Shawn Heath from Grand Rapids, MI where I live; naturally. This is all relevant because it brings together both my passion for video games and tattoos.
