Marked Men: Ghosts

I will just say this up front, I am probably not the best one to be reviewing Ghosts. Marked Men are on Dirtnap which means garagey/lo-fi punk rock which is not really my forte. I mean, I have my Exploding Hearts and Scared of Chaka records but I haven’t really felt the need to go much further beyond that.

I have heard The Marked Men bantered about as one of the genre’s best and upon numerous listens it would be hard to argue that. Ghosts is the band’s fourth album and clocks in at a lean 15 songs in 30 minutes which is completely appropriate for the genre. The band embarked on a self-imposed hiatus after this record’s release and that’s a shame cause based on Ghosts, these guys are excellent at what they do. The chances of me revisiting this album much in the future are slim but I can say it sure sounds like a blast while it’s on.
