Teenage Bottlerocket return with their fourth album and first for Fat Wreck Chords. They Came From The Shadows continues in the Teenage Bottlerocket tradition of ridiculously catchy pop/punk rock. Right from the very beginning you know you are in for a treat. The album opener “Skate or Die” is one of the best openers I can remember. The song would be an absolute classic if it had come out about 15 years ago. This is the shit that I can relate to when it comes to pop/punk rock…snotty, humorous and downright infectious. I worry sometimes when bands sign to Fat that they get too slick but the production only enhances Teenage Bottlerocket’s chops here. Probably not as consistently awesome as their previous album, Warning Device, but They Came From The Shadows continues to push Teenage Bottlerocket into rarified air.
