While I was not a big fan of Evangelicals‘ debut, So Gone, I simply love the album cover. I just listened to the band’s new album, The Evening Descends, and it strikes me quite a bit more than So Gone ever did. “Skeleton Man” is off The Evening Descends.

- I love this cover and A Long Dream About Swimming Across The Sea is a great album as well. Tyler Ramsey is a member of Band Of Horses but has just released his solo debut as well. Fans of Mark Kozelek and any of his other projects (Sun Kil Moon and Red House Painters) would be well advised to check Tyler Ramsey out.

Chase over at Standard Lipsum beat me to it but I am captivated by the album cover for the upcoming Black Mountain album, In The Future. The album comes out later this month and expands the band’s brand of spacy rock even moreso. Check out an mp3 from the new album below.

Mogwai “Come On Die Young” (Matador)

Apparently, according to my girlfriend, I like creepy artwork. Which I guess explains why so many of the walls in my house are bare because she definitely does not approve. But, I guess it does explain the fondness I have always had for the cover of Come On Die Young by Mogwai.
Fugazi “Red Medicine” (Dischord)

- This was a tough choice because so many of Fugazi’s covers are great…In On The Killtaker, Steady Diet of Nothing and End Hits are all favorites. If I must choose though, I’m gonna go with Red Medicine. In my opinion, it is also the most underrated of Fugazi full-lengths as well.
Tara Jane O’Neil “You Sound, Reflect” (Quarterstick)

- It is all in the eyes. I certainly recommend this album…beautiful stuff.
Subtle “For Hero: For Fool” (Astralwerks)

- Not in love with this album but I do love the cover. This is a cover that I can imagine might end up on some worst album covers list as well. Me like though.
Rise Against “The Sufferer & The Witness” (Geffen)

- I really love Rise Against. This artwork from their 2006 album is so different compared to their past albums. I really dig it.
The Sounds “Dying To Say This To You” (New Line)

- Here’s a new feature. Sometimes artwork is underappreciated in music. I can’t really explain why I like this one so much. It’s a mystery.
