Band Dump is a way for me to cover deserving bands that otherwise might not get the full review treatment at SAL. So, here we go…
Trunks & Tales “Tour EP” – Incredibly sincere acoustic folk/punk. Really cool packaging and these guys obviously have their hearts in the right place. Certainly not the most original but worth spending some time with. (Self-Released)
The Trophy Fire “A Lifetime In The Middle Of The Ocean” – Fans of The Format should probably fall in love with this band…you know, poppy, cheesy and what not. I can get down with some of these songs but it wears a bit thin in full album form. (Talking House)
I Love You “Drone, Drugs And Harmony” – Dub-influenced indie punk with a surprising amount of melody. Not my bag but people who dig this kind of stuff should seek it out. (Self-Released)
Bottle Up & Go “These Bones” – Punk rock collides with blues rock in a raucous and raw affair. You should know from that description whether you will like this or not. (Kill Normal)
Motion Turns It On “Live At The Southpaw” – Really well recorded live stuff from this dynamic prog/instrumental band who I covered in the past. (Self-Released)
Male “All Are Welcome” – Four songs, 30 minutes. Droney instrumental ambiance from members of Exploding Star Orchestra, Pan American and Joan Of Arc. Not bad but doesn’t really keep my attention either. (Other Electricities)
Two Sheds “Self-Titled” – Well done indie/folk from this California trio led by a brother/sister or husband/wife team…I never could find out which one it was. Either way, this is promising stuff. (Filter)
